We stayed at the brand new The View hotel. This picture was taken from our room balcony and, as you can see, the boys approved.
Although we set out to see the Grand Canyon, it turns out that Monument Valley in Arizona/Utah/Navajo Nation did a much better job getting the boys attention. We camped at the Grand Canyon and mostly just looked down, whereas we stayed in the middle of the valley and could drive through it and run around. The fancy hotel and restaurant also helped.
The campsites had no shade and it was over 100 degrees. The boys gave me a crushing hug when I told them we could stay at the hotel.
